(PresidentialInsider.com)- The National Pulse is reporting that those who want to get a job at the Wuhan Institute of Virology which is run by the Communist Chinese Party have to pledge allegiance to the Communist Chinese Party.
Who’da thunk it?
Apparently, the writers at the National Pulse never learned about communist regimes in school. Just wait until they hear about the old Soviet Union. Their heads will explode from the shock.
Yes, a state-run facility demands fealty to the state. That’s how communists do things.
It isn’t surprising that the Wuhan Institute of Virology would want to exclude from its staff people who are not aligned with the ruling Communist Party. Nor is it a surprise that they would require job applicants to support the Party’s leadership and have “the correct political orientation.”
From its report, it appears the reason The National Pulse finds this so scandalizing is that the National Institutes of Health confirmed that US taxpayer funding when to gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab.
Yes, it is outrageous that taxpayers would fund research into a Communist Chinese Party-affiliated facility. But to act as if a Communist state requiring its people to be politically aligned with the state is some kind of explosive, shocking news seems a bit over-the-top.
The State is everything in a communist country. That has been the reality since the Russian Revolution over a century ago.
There is no way to separate China’s scientific community from the state. They are irrevocably intertwined in the same way that China’s energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors are intertwined with the state.
This is precisely why the US scientific community, including the NIH, is deeply naïve to think working with scientists at the Wuhan lab has nothing to do with the Communist Chinese Party. The work at the Wuhan lab is not independent from Beijing; they are inexorably linked.
