(PresidentialInsider.com)- Former President Donald Trump has been pretty elusive about his possible run for president in 2024, but has heavily alluded to the chance he may once again campaign to take the White House. But one other campaign idea has people looking to 2022 instead, and the former president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., responded to speculation that his father may run for Congress and become the next House Speaker.
Sadly, it sounds like it’s probably not going to happen.
“I don’t think that’s a real plan,” Trump Jr. said during an interview on Newsmax.
He said that he’d heard plenty of theories about the former president running for Congress, becoming the next House speaker, and then using his power to impeach President Joe Biden. However, Trump Jr. said that they’re great, the enthusiasm is positive, but that it doesn’t really appear to be on the cards.
He also suggested that there may be conservatives ready to step up and do the job, meaning President Trump won’t need to be the one to do it.
During the interview, Trump Jr. said that Republicans need a deeper bench and must get rid of the RINOs and “establishment clowns” who will never fight.
He said that RINOs tell people what they want to heard, but never actually do something about it. These are the Republicans who talk tough, but when it comes to fighting for election integrity, don’t want to face the wrath of the Republicans and so won’t do anything.
Sadly, he didn’t offer any more information about a potential Trump 2024 run.
Former President Trump has suggested he would be able to take back the White House in 2024 if he wants to, and his former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows also told Fox News recently that the “American people want him to run.”
Trump has said that he will make an announcement about whether or not he plans to run for president in 2024 following the 2022 midterms…and hopefully, by then, we’ll have a Republican-led Senate and House.
