Ron DeSantis Says California Treats Citizens Like Peasants

Maybe Gavin Newsom is getting an early jump on the 2024 presidential election by attacking the guy he thinks will be the Republican nominee.

“I can tell you,” he said, “if you go to California, you ain’t seeing many Florida license plates.”

DeSantis called out Newsom’s hypocrisy for locking down California while he enjoyed “extravagant dinners at the French Laundry.” DeSantis added that Newsom was rubbing “his citizens’ noses in the fact that he was treating them like peasants.”

DeSantis said it is telling that families are willing to uproot their lives in California to move across the country to Florida. He said it is hard to drive people out of a state as beautiful as California, but because of the state’s terrible governance, “they’re finding a way to do it.
