(PresidentialInsider.com)- If Dr. Anthony Fauci thinks he can easily get away with the multiple scandals he’s currently tied up in, then he’s right…and he’s wrong.
While President Joe Biden and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently admitted that they see no circumstance in which Fauci would be fired, the American public has a vastly different opinion about the job he is doing.
A new poll from Rasmussen Reports found that only 40% of likely U.S. voters believe that Fauci is being completely honest when he says that the United States government has not funded gain-of-function research in China. However, some 46% of the public believe that Fauci hasn’t told the truth, and 15% aren’t sure.
It all stems from a claim made by Fauci during a senate hearing last month. When asked by Republican Kentucky Senator Rand Paul whether he still supports gain-of-function research in China, he told Paul that he was “entirely and completely wrong about the assertion and that the United States has never given money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to perform research into bat coronaviruses.

However, last week, Senator Paul said that Fauci’s emails – which were released as part of a Freedom of Information Act request – reveal that he didn’t tell the truth. Paul said that when Fauci denied the U.S. government funding the research in Wuha, he was aware that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was receiving funds from the National Institute of Health.
The lab is understood to have performed research that involved taking a bat coronavirus that could infect humans and then making it transmissible.
The new survey also found that Republicans were more likely than Democrats to not believe Fauci is telling the truth, but either way, the figures show that a majority of Americans don’t trust what he’s saying.
And at this point…why should they?
