(PresidentialInsider.com)- Just weeks after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez indicated in a magazine interview that she might not be destined to stay in politics, the far-left Congresswoman is now talking about the possibility of challenging Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for his seat.
Punchbowl reported how Ocasio-Cortez has her eyes on a sear in the upper chamber of Congress and may wish to replace a big name like Schumer, which would reflect the massive change in the Democratic Party in recent years.
“I’m not playing coy or anything like that. I’m still very much in a place where I’m trying to decide what is the most effective thing I can do to help our Congress, our political process, and our country actually address the issue,” she told the outlet.
Ocasio-Cortez was also asked her thoughts on the Democrats losing their majority in Congress, to which she responded by saying she doesn’t think short term.
And then, when the topic approached the issue of Chuck Schumer and how well he has done his job so far, she changed the topic and just called Trump a fascist.
Classic tactic. Avoid difficult questions by using buzzwords like “racist” and “fascist”!
“We’ve had to deal with a fascist president and Mitch McConnell,” the far-left socialist incorrectly claimed.
In terms of Schumer, Ocasio-Cortez courteously said that they have an “open relationship” and that they “speak to each other regularly,” before pressing that the party can only do so much because they are not a majority.
“There are also things you couldn’t do with this minority because Senate rules changed,” she added.
If Ocasio-Cortez does go for the Senate seat, it would be the second time she worked to undermine a sitting Democratic politician to advance her far-left agenda.
When she won her seat in 2018, Ocasio-Cortez first had to primary Joe Crawley, who was the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and had been for the last couple of years of his 20 years in the House. Ocasio-Cortez disrupted that and has since served her New York district by advocating extremist left-wing ideas, and even famously shooed away employment opportunities from an Amazon facility that was originally going to be built there.
