New Democrat Push Against Israel Is Too Disturbing For Words

( Anti-Israel Squad member, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, on Monday introduced a resolution calling for the United States to recognize the “Nakba” (AKA “catastrophe”), a term used by Palestinians to describe the establishment of Israel which declared its independence on May 14, 1948.

In her resolution, Tlaib wants the United States to “commemorate the Nakba through official recognition and remembrance.”

Palestinians commemorate Nakba Day on the same day Israel commemorates its Independence in 1948.

In short, Rashida Tlaib wants the United States to recognize that Israeli Independence is a “catastrophe.”

What an odious woman.

Granted, Tlaib is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, but has she forgotten that her constituents live in Michigan and not the West Bank? Then again, she’s always been a Palestine First politician.

In a tweet defending her resolution, the hateful anti-Semite claimed that “since the 48 Nakba,” Palestinians “have been living under oppression and violent racism.” She blasted US financial aid to Israel, claiming “blank checks enables [sic] more death and violence.”

Joining Tlaib in demanding that the United States commemorate the “catastrophe” of Israeli Independence are the Democrat House members you’d expect, including Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, as well as Betty McCollum of Minnesota, and Marie Newman of Illinois.

The resolution claims that Palestinian Arabs opposed the United Nation’s 1947 recommendation to partition the territory known at the time as Palestine into two separate states. It claims that before Israel declared independence, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled their homes “often after attacks by Zionist militias.”

The State Department’s Office of the Historian records the facts quite differently. It notes that after the 1947 UN resolution, “irregular bands of Palestinian Arabs” began attacking Jewish cities and settlements, as well as Israeli armed forces.

But this is always the case, isn’t it? Tlaib always decries Israeli attacks while ignoring the initial Arab attacks that prompted the Israelis to respond.

The purpose of this resolution is to rewrite history, skewing it to favor the Palestinians over the Israelis, while trying to further undermine US support for Israel.
