(PresidentialInsider.com)- Actor Matthew McConaughey angered Hollywood last week when he came out and said that it’s absurd for the COVID-19 vaccine to be forced on children.
The Hill reported that during a New York Times DealBook summit on Tuesday, McConaughey admitted that he doesn’t support vaccine mandates for children.
“I still want to find out more information,” he said, affirming the concerns of millions of Americans who just don’t know what symptoms or side effects may come with these vaccines long-term.
He also made it clear that he’s not opposed to the vaccine, and that he and his wife are vaccinated themselves.
“I didn’t do it because someone told me I had to, I chose to do it,” he said.
He insisted that he doesn’t believe in any conspiracy theories, and there is “not a conspiracy theory on the vaccines.”
It’s not clear what exactly he means by that, but it’s possible that he just recognizes how easy it is for the media to smear him as a conspiracy theorist.
“Right now, I’m not vaccinating mine, I’ll tell you that,” he said about his eight, 11, and 13-year old children that he has wife with Camila Alves.
Not long after he made the comments, left-wing United States Surgeon General Dr. Vivek appeared on CNN, trying to make the case for vaccinating children.
“Many kids have died. Sadly, hundreds of children — thousands — have been hospitalized, and as a dad of a child who has been hospitalized several years ago for another illness, I would never wish upon any parent they have a child that ends up in the hospital,” he said.
Interestingly, however, he didn’t mention the fact that almost every single child who died with COVID-19 had a serious comorbidity. The vast majority of children, if they even catch COVID-19, experience minor symptoms. This has been known since the very beginning of this pandemic.
Why does McConaughey – or anybody else who questions the sense behind vaccinating children – have to be so defensive about something so logical?
