(PresidentialInsider.com)- Bill Maher, a dyed-in-the-wool Liberal, has been using his show to try and pull the Left back from careening off of the “woke” cliff – not because he supports the Right, but because, as he put it in his show last week, Leftists have been “embarrassing me” and “that’s why I’m going after the Left.
During his HBO show “Real Time” last Friday, the target of Maher’s embarrassment was the National Football League and its decision to open games with what is known as “The Black National Anthem.”
Maher talked about singer Alicia Keys opening last Thursday’s game with “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” While he conceded that perhaps it was time to get rid of “The Star Spangled Banner,” Maher still thinks we should only have one national anthem.
Going down the road where a country has two different national anthems, one for blacks and one for everyone else, Maher said, we are returning to segregation only “under a different name.”

Before the start of the season, the NFL announced that it would open some games by playing both “The Star Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” as part of the NFL’s “social justice commitments.”
On Wednesday, Maher appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and this time, he took a hammer to the American Liberal media’s fearmongering over COVID-19.
Maher, who has begun touring, told Kimmel (one of the biggest COVID fearmongers out there) that the Liberal media needs to “stop scaring the sh*t” out of people about COVID. He said it is difficult to sell tickets to his tour dates in Blue states because the people living there are afraid to leave the house.
Maher pointed out that when people are asked what the chances are of being hospitalized because of COVID, Democrats gave an answer that was “way higher than Republicans.” Forty-one percent of Democrats believed the chances were over fifty percent. “The answer,” Maher told Kimmel, “is between 1 percent and 5 percent.”
Maher placed the blame for Democrats’ skewed view directly on the Liberal media, which he believes “has to take a little responsibility for that.”
