Lawmaker Releases The Dirt On John Kerry

( Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican Congressman from Tennessee, raised some interesting questions this week about President Joe Biden’s climate czar, former Secretary of State John Kerry.

Burchett, who is a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, demanded that President Biden offer some answers about Kerry’s meetings with his Chinese counterpart, his “taxpayer funded world climate tour,” and his huge staff of 45 people funded by the State Department.

What exactly is Kerry doing that requires constant international travel and a staff of 45?

In a letter sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Burchett asked about Kerry’s meeting in China in April and argued that the authoritarian Chinese Communist Party has repeatedly proven to be hostile not just to the United States but also Biden’s own agenda. He also questioned Kerry’s recent comments about China’s ongoing human rights abuses and how they should not interfere with a new climate deal – should he be able to make one.

“I write to express my concern with Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry’s taxpayer funded world climate tour, and, especially, his latest meeting with China’s climate envoy, Xie Zhenhua,” Burchett said in the letter.

“The Chinese Communist Party is the United States’ foremost geopolitical rival, and the timing of this summit with its sole focus on climate signals to Beijing that this issue is the Biden Administration’s primary bilateral priority, as opposed to human rights or security issues,” he continued.

Burchett added that Kerry’s “jet-setting” sends the wrong message with his ongoing campaign to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and said that it “hands the CCP a public relations victory.”

That’s hard to argue with…

The letter asked why Kerry needs such a large office when there is already an entire bureau dedicated to Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs as well as another department for Energy Resources.

Naturally, he’s yet to receive an answer.

Why do you think Kerry is getting such a good gig in the Biden administration?
