(PresidentialInsider.com)- Far-left Vice President Kamala Harris, whose approval rating recently slipped to an embarrassing 28%, is reportedly unhappy that the massive social spending package just approved by Congress doesn’t include paid family leave.
The unprecedented spending package, which has disingenuously been labeled “bipartisan” because it gained the support of some RINOs, originally contained provisions for 12 weeks of paid family leave. It was later slimmed down to four weeks through negotiations with Republicans, and was eventually cut entirely as part of a concession to moderate liberal Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia.
And Harris is real mad at him for it.
“Yes, it’s frustrating,” she said during a press conference in Paris.
She said that it’s something she has been advocating for years, and that the measure was in the original proposal.
“I’m frustrated and it is I think a shame that then we are not yet a leader on this,” she said.
No, it doesn’t make sense. That’s what she said though,
“And that is why the president and I are committed to doing this work,” she added.
She then went on to claim that paid family leave will disproportionately affect working women – which seems kind of sexist when you compare it to what the Democrats say these days. Can’t men be mothers? Apparently they can. Can’t fathers be more hands-on with raising children while the woman goes to work?
She’s so sexist!
Despite the measure not being included in the bill, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg – who recently disappeared for weeks after the birth of a child – said that the White House will continue to fight for paid family leave.
It might not have happened yet, but soon enough, businesses may be forced to pay their workers a full salary for three whole months every time they have a baby.
