(PresidentialInsider.com)- Now that President Joe Biden has botched the long-awaited withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, and officially wiped his hands clean of the matter, he has very quickly moved on to the pressing matter of relocating potentially hundreds of thousands of people from Afghanistan to the United States.
Have these people absolutely no awareness of the very real possibility – and likelihood – that people will abuse America’s good nature and pretend to be refugees just to seek easy access to the United States?
On Sunday, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandra Mayorkas revealed that Robert J. Fenton Jr, who has worked at the Federal Emergency Management Agency) FEMA since the 90s will be heading up the Unified Coordination Group and its plan to relocate huge numbers of Afghans in the United States.
Fenton is currently the regional administrator for FEMA’s Region Nine and previously served as the deputy associate administrator in FEMA’s Office of Response and Recovery.
In a statement, he said that he was “honored” by the confidence placed in him to execute this “vital mission” and said that the Department of Homeland Security is preparing to lead the way in coordinating efforts across all government agencies to “welcome vulnerable Afghans to our Nation.”
No word on the very real concern of terrorists being allowed into the United States through the backdoor.
Mayorkas added in the statement that the mission “reflects the best of who we are” and said that the President has given them his full support.
More than 110,000 people have been evacuated from Kabul since Biden’s hasty and badly-planned evacuation, and a majority of those so far have been Afghans – not Americans.
Since the official full withdrawal of U.S. troops this week, it was revealed that hundreds of Americans have now been left stranded in Afghanistan, along with an untold number of allies and non-U.S. citizens.
