(PresidentialInsider.com)- Joe Biden’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal has been so unbelievably bad that every public opinion poll conducted last week showed precipitous drops in support.
In short, Joe Biden’s approval is in freefall.
On Monday, the new poll from the Trafalgar group on Biden’s handling of Afghanistan found that the vast majority – 69.3 percent – disapprove of the job Biden has done. Only 23.1 percent approved of Biden’s Afghan withdrawal, and 7.5 percent had no opinion.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Tuesday showed Biden losing a staggering seven percent in approval in just one week. Biden is now at 46 percent approval – his lowest recorded by Ipsos since taking office.
Then on Wednesday, Rasmussen Reports released its Presidential tracking poll which showed Biden’s approval rating has dropped seventeen points from where it was in January – also the lowest approval Rasmussen recorded since Biden took office.
In its poll, Rasmussen found 46 percent approval for the president’s job performance while a staggering 54 percent disapprove. That is the highest disapproval number for Biden ever.
Rasmussen found that only 26 percent strongly approve of Biden’s job performance while 45 percent strongly disapprove – putting Biden’s Presidential Approval Index rating underwater at NEGATIVE 19.
Biden’s polling is sinking under water faster than the Taliban taking Kabul.
On Thursday, the Federalist/Susquehanna Polling and Research released a poll conducted between August 16 and August 18 which showed only 38 percent approved of the job Biden is doing while 51 percent disapproved. This poll also found that only 27 percent of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction while the overwhelming majority (60 percent) think it is headed in the wrong direction.
And on Monday, NBC News reported a significant shift in polling among independents since April. In a poll conducted between August 14-17, President Biden’s approval among independents was 46 percent. That is a fifteen point drop in approval from the NBC News poll conducted in mid-April.
What’s even more stunning about this NBC poll, however, is the seismic shift in Congressional preference among independence. In mid-April, independents preferred Democrats by 14 points. By last week, that number shifted 15 points to Republicans +1.
Biden is in freefall, and apparently he’s taking Congressional Democrats with him.
