Franklin Graham Says Supreme Court News Is Answer To “Many Years” Of Prayer

(PresidentialInsider.com)- Franklin Graham, an anti-abortion evangelist, described the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade as “an answer to many years of prayers.”
In the improperly leaked draft opinion of Justice Samuel Alito, the court appears to rule against long-known federal abortion rights established by Roe v. Wade in 1973. According to the draft acquired by Politico, abortion would become illegal in at least 13 states. Mississippi is trying to outlaw nearly all abortions after 15 weeks.
Graham, the son of televangelist Billy Graham, took a joyful tone on a social media post on Monday night, sharing a link to the report.
He also wrote that the Supreme Court had voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. He stated he didn’t know if the report was accurate, but if it was, “Praise God!”
News articles show Graham has primarily identified himself with conservative political and social concerns throughout the years. He called Donald Trump an Evangelical ally and compared Republicans who voted to impeach the former President to Judas.
Graham is the CEO of his father’s business, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and president of the Samaritan’s Purse, a humanitarian relief organization.
According to their website, Samaritan’s Purse is currently giving medical assistance to displaced Ukrainians at a number of medical institutions around the country. Their Emergency Field Hospital in western Ukraine, on the outskirts of Lviv, has been caring for patients since March 14th.
Alito said in his draft opinion that the subject of abortion rights should be decided by elected officials.
The draft acquired by Politico stated that there was no foundation in American law for a constitutional right to procure an abortion until the latter half of the twentieth century. Such a right has never been acknowledged in any state constitution. Further, Alito stated it was past time to pay attention to the Constitution and restore the subject of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
