A Beverly Hills celebrity doctor who in 2019 filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services for $750 million after DCFS removed her children from her provided the National File 2013 video footage showing her children being taken away.

Dr. Susan Spell and her then-18-year-old son Nicholas filed the $750 million lawsuit in July 2019. At the time, Spell told The Epoch Times that she brought the suit to “bring awareness” of “corruption and abuse of power” at the Los Angeles County DCFS.
Spell’s children, whom she had with a sperm donor, were taken from her and placed in the custody of her ex-husband, a plastic surgeon and DCFS expert witness. In her lawsuit, Spell alleges that the social worker assigned to her case had engaged in a sexual relationship with her ex-husband and was biased against Spell.
In June, Dr. Spell filed a writ of certiorari with the US Supreme Court requesting that her lawsuit be heard in the Court. As yet, the Court has not indicated if Spell’s case will be heard.
