Donald Trump Calls Emergency meeting On January 6th Anniversary

( In his latest statement attacking the partisan House select committee investigating the riot on January 6, former President Donald Trump announced that he would be holding a press conference on the one-year anniversary of the riot.

Claiming again that the real “insurrection” took place on election day, Trump demanded to know why the select committee isn’t investigating what he says is the “CAUSE” of the January 6 “protest,” namely “the rigged Presidential Election of 2020.”

In his statement, Trump reiterated his claim that election fraud cost him Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He singled out the “Republican RINOs” in Michigan accusing them of not wanting to pursue fraud in that state.

In announcing his planned January 6 news conference, Trump said he would “discuss all of these points, and more.”

In the meantime, Trump said he wanted people to remember that the real insurrection “took place on November 3rd” and said January 6 was an “unarmed protest of the rigged election.”

The former president made no mention of the more than 700 Trump supporters who have been charged in connection to the Capitol breach, nor did he say anything about the Trump supporters currently detained in deplorable conditions at the “DC Gulag.”

The defense of those held in the DC jail has come only from a handful of Republican lawmakers, most notably Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who earlier this month urged members of the January 6 select committee to tour the jail and so they could see for themselves the deplorable conditions and treatment these detainees endure.

Meanwhile, both the White House and Speaker Nancy Pelosi have indicated that they will “commemorate” the January 6 riot. News media outlets like CNN have also planned special programming to flog the one-year anniversary.

Pelosi’s anniversary plans include a panel discussion led by historians and an evening vigil.
