(PresidentialInsider.com)- In a recent interview, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy criticized the so-called “anti-racism” behind Critical Race Theory by pointing out that it goes again Martin Luther King’s dream that one day we would be judged not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character.
This is, at its heart, factually true.
How else do you explain accusing all whites of being guilty of racism while demonizing “whiteness” as irredeemably bad? Critical Race Theory is based on judging people by the color of their skin.
But because she’s deeply stupid, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decided to attack McCarthy for calling out the inherent racism of Critical Race Theory.
In a series of tweets, the least effective legislator in Congress attacked opponents of CRT first by tweeting a quote from Martin Luther King in which he said whites are not putting in the effort to “reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of a sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn.”
But King wrote those words over fifty years ago. America has not remained static in those 54 years. In fact, great strides have taken place between 1967 and 2021. In short, the circumstances have changed dramatically since King made that statement.
But that doesn’t matter to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Instead, she claimed that because Martin Luther King said that fifty-four years ago, he would support Critical Race Theory. And not only that, he was an “anti-capitalist” too!
Ocasio-Cortez then accused the GOP of “gutting” the voting rights King worked for claiming Republicans “want you to believe he’d support mass disenfranchisement and teaching of racial ignorance.”
What nonsense.
Requiring photo ID to vote isn’t “mass disenfranchisement.” It’s as if she’s trying to out-hyperbole Joe Biden. Who knew that was possible?
Opposition to Critical Race Theory isn’t “teaching racial ignorance.”
Critical Race Theory is racial ignorance. It is racially ignorant to tell children that believing in the scientific method, or being on time, or having a work ethic are racist. You’d have to be a racial ignoramus to buy that kind of nonsense.
Which explains why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez believes it.
